Quickstart

Create a project, import a design folder, and start a board thread.

Second Silicon is currently available to beta customers. If you don’t have access yet, reach out at secondsilicon.ai.

Sign in

Open app.secondsilicon.ai in your browser and sign in with your workspace credentials. There’s nothing to install to get started.

Import a project folder

On the Projects page, click New Project, leave Import Project selected, and optionally enter a project name. Click Choose Folder, select the folder that contains the design, review the filtered file list, and start the import.

Select a folder containing a .kicad_pro file and its .kicad_sch files. Second Silicon imports each detected project root as a board and loads the rendered schematic plus semantic design data. Editable boards can expose native Design mode.

Pair Symbiote for local tools and scope capture

This step is optional. Pair Symbiote when a workflow needs local firmware, ECAD or KiCad CLI operations, or capture from a supported instrument.

Install Symbiote from the in-app download page, launch it, and approve its browser pairing request for the current workspace. Setup details are in Symbiote.

Start a debug thread

Open the imported board, create a thread with the + button, choose Debug, and describe the symptom in plain language — for example, “3.3 V rail reads 0 V” or “MCU never comes out of reset.”

Reply with the results. The agent refines its hypothesis and highlights the next areas to probe on the schematic. Continue until the fault is found.

Download the thread

Open the thread menu and choose the PDF action to download its transcript-style history. Generated multi-thread board reports are not available yet.
